The success of the Riverwood Athletic Program depends on generous donors and community support.

The Riverwood Athletic Association’s (RAA) primary purpose is to raise money for all Riverwood Raider sports teams and athletic facilities.  RICS allows the RAA to function as a single booster organization to ensure consistency and continuity to all sports programs. Riverwood is proud of its tradition of athletic excellence. More than 50% of the student body participates on one of the 21 athletic teams.  Riverwood continues to impress the Region with our level of competition.  In 2019, we won the Region 6-AAAAA Directors’ Cup Championship for three consecutive years and 19 of our 21 teams advanced to State Playoffs.  It was the best overall year for athletics in Riverwood’s history.

Riverwood Athletics depends on the RAA and Membership Donations to support the growth of all sports teams, changes and additions to our facilities, and maintenance of all sports and training equipment.

Last year with your generous donations, the Athletic Department was able to make the following improvements:

  • Video Scorers Table for new gym
  • Purchased HUDL Sports Cameras/ HD Video Streaming capabilities
  • Purchased Stadium Speakers
  • Purchased Press Box Rack
  • Covered 2 Years of TeamSnap Dues for all sports teams

Other past projects by the RAA:

  • Purchased weight racks and workout benches
  • Updated the Training Room
  • Purchased a reel mower for baseball/softball
  • Purchased a scorers table for lacrosse and track and field
  • Purchased a press box rack

This year, we’ll continue to improve our athletic facilities, upgrade our training room equipment and supply many other essentials our coaching staff and student athletes need to excel.  Membership is open to everyone, including parents, guardians, alumni, faculty and friends of Riverwood.  The RAA depends on the generous supporters in our community for much of the fundingand proactively solicits Family and Corporate Sponsorships to assist with larger capital expenditures.  We are a 501(c)3 corporation, all donations are tax deductible.

The RAA is comprised of 13 voting members with diverse backgrounds (Board of Directors), the Athletic Director, Two Coaches, and a Committee made up of Team Parent Reps.  The Team Parent Rep Committee has a representative from every team to ensure that all team’s needs are being addressed.  The Board of Directors governs the business and financial affairs of the organization.  For questions regarding specifics of individual team fundraising, please talk with your Team Representative.
